OFb on a top load Maytag washer means the load is out of balance. The washer could not fix it by automated methods, so the load must be redistributed evenly around the washplate by hand.
If the cycle can be paused
Press Start to pause the cycle, open the lid, rearrange the clothing or reduce the load, then press Start again to restart.
If the error is present
- Cancel the cycle by pressing Start or disconnecting the power cord.
- Run a drain-only cycle if water is present.
- Rearrange clothing or remove some items so the load is level and not overloaded. Try the Bulky or Heavy Duty cycle.
- Optionally, run a Drain & Spin cycle after rearranging if you only need to extract water.
Loading tips
Load items in loose heaps evenly. Wet items or extra water can unbalance the washer. Balance a single item such as a rug or jeans jacket with a few extra items such as towels. Use the Bulky/Sheets Deep Water Wash cycle for oversized, nonabsorbent items such as comforters or poly-filled jackets.
