What this code means
F0 E9
F0 E9 means an out-of-balance load; the washer tries to self-correct by refilling and gently rotating back and forth.
Unbalanced load
If the load is not evenly distributed in the basket when spinning begins, the basket can move, causing noise, vibration, reduced spin speed, longer cycle times and weaker washer performance. The error typically occurs during the spin part of the cycle, after the wash portion has finished.
What the washer does
When it detects an out-of-balance load, the washer tries to self-correct by refilling and gently rotating back and forth, redistributing the clothing evenly. If it cannot level the load, it displays the error.
Signs of an unbalanced load
- Loud noises during the spin cycle.
- Excessive shaking.
- Clothes still wet when the cycle is complete.
With a significant imbalance, the washer may stop spinning and you may have to redistribute the load by hand.
