F3 E2 on a Maytag washer is a pressure system fault (front load) or may mean hot and cold inlet hoses are swapped (top load).
What this code means
F3 E2
F3 E2 means a pressure system fault (front load) or possibly reversed hot and cold inlet hoses (top load).
F3 E2 reads differently by model. On front-load Maytag washers it is a pressure system fault: the pressure signal is out of range or absent. On top-load washers, Maytag says it could mean the hot and cold inlet hoses have been installed incorrectly.
Top-load checks
- Are the hoses reversed? The code shows the cold hose connected to the hot water inlet and the hot hose to the cold water inlet.
- Is the water turned on? Hot and cold valves must be fully open, with both inlet hoses connected.
Reset
Whichever washer you have, Maytag lists the same power cycle: unplug it for 5 minutes, then plug it back in.
Close relatives
F3 E1 is a water level alert and F3E2 an inlet water temperature fault.
