What this code means
FC E8
FC E8 shows a registration error: the connected-appliance setup was not accepted, for example because of a wrong SAID number or wrong appliance type or model number.
FC E8 relates to registering the microwave as a connected appliance. When it appears, a “Registration Error” message will show.
Two things to check
- Was the SAID number entered correctly? A wrong SAID number produces the Registration Error. Enter it again. Maytag refers to “SAID Location” in the “Other Info” section of its troubleshooting guide for help finding it.
- Were the right appliance type and model number chosen? They are picked at the start of registration. A wrong choice also causes the Registration Error.
If you need help with the connected appliance, Maytag lists a support phone line on its page.
