FC E2 on a Maytag over-the-range microwave: connection to the router failed.
What this code means
FC E2
FC E2 is a connected-appliance Wi-Fi problem: the microwave could not connect to the router.
The over-the-range Maytag microwave shows FC E2 when it fails to connect to the router. Maytag lists connection time out, weak signal, a failed router, the microwave Wi-Fi module and wiring as the possible sources.
Work through these in order
- Power: breaker(s) off for one (1) minute, then on; watch the display for one (1) minute and confirm operation.
- Router: reset it. The Wi-Fi module and router are not linked at the moment.
- Other devices: do a phone or tablet work normally? Test it beside the microwave.
- If they do: router unplugged for 2 minutes, reconnected, then the microwave disconnected for 2 minutes and reconnected.
Poor reception
Few bars at the microwave? Maytag suggests a new router position, a compatible signal extender, or a call to your Internet Service Provider.
