What this code means
F8 E1
F8E1 (H20) means the dishwasher is not detecting water.
A Maytag dishwasher that flashes F8E1, or shows H20, is not detecting water. Maytag’s product help gives two supply checks.
What the manufacturer says to check
Start with the supply: make sure the water supply to the dishwasher is turned on. Then look along the supply hose for kinks. Once the supply is corrected, press Start and the dishwasher will try to fill and carry on with the cycle.
If it keeps flashing
When the display comes back after the supply and hose are sorted, the next step is a call to a technician. Compare against F8E1, the inlet water entry for no water or a closed tap, and F8 E2, the fill valve electric error. F8 E4 is the drip tray water code.
