- F9 / F9 E0 wiring
- Appliance
- Wall Oven
F9 or F9 E0 on a Maytag wall oven most often points to wiring at the home electrical supply or the hard-wire connection.
What this code means
F9 / F9 E0 wiring
The oven may be wired incorrectly at the home electrical supply or at the hard-wire connection.
F9 and F9 E0 are the same message on a Maytag wall oven. The manual says it will most often mean the appliance is wired incorrectly, either at the home electrical supply or at the hard-wire connection.
Was the oven installed correctly?
The manual asks that every terminal be wired correctly, with L2 and N not swapped. It also says to have a qualified electrician verify that the electrical supply was installed correctly. If the oven went in recently (within approximately 3 months), that call is the first thing to make.
Other reasons the code can show
- A power outage with unexpected line noise that the control read as an incorrect voltage.
- A key pressed during the 10-second delay at power-up.
The same events can also bring up the PF code.
Reset the power
Turn the oven’s circuit breaker off for one minute, switch it on again, then watch the oven for a minute to see that the code stays away. Finish by checking that the oven operates.
