What F3 E4 means on a Maytag wall oven and how to reset and monitor it.
What this code means
F3 E4
F3 E4 may indicate a problem with a power attachment or a dislocated meat probe, depending on the model number.
If F3 E4 appears on your Maytag wall oven, the manufacturer’s help page says the cause may be a power attachment or a dislocated meat probe, depending on the model number.
Maytag says this code can be caused by a dislocated meat probe or power attachment. If the meat probe was in use, verify it is securely inserted in its receptacle; its location varies, and the Owner’s Manual shows where. If a power attachment was in use, it may have become unplugged (available on some models): roll out the rack, make sure the power attachment sits in the correct location, and push the roll-out firmly into the oven until a tone sounds.
What Maytag says to do
Power the unit down at the circuit breaker(s) and keep it down for one (1) minute. Power the unit back up at the circuit breaker(s). Observe the oven for one (1) minute for any repeat of the error. Verify the oven’s operation to close it out.
If the reset does not clear it, Maytag lists contacting them or scheduling service as the next move.
Similar messages on a wall oven: F3 E5 (the lower oven temperature sensor or control); F3 E6, which refers to the lower oven sensor circuit.
