PO on a Maytag refrigerator means the Power Outage indicator is active. Press MEASURED FILL under Confirm to clear it.
What this code means
PO
PO is the Power Outage indicator: the refrigerator lost power and the freezer temperature rose to 18°F (-8°C) or higher.
When the control panel of a Maytag refrigerator reads PO, the refrigerator is telling you about a power outage. Maytag publishes this message for side-by-side and French door bottom-freezer refrigerators.
What PO means
PO stands for Power Outage. The indicator lets you know that the power supply to the refrigerator has been off and that the freezer temperature has risen to 18°F (-8°C) or higher. The temperature display reads “PO” and an alert tone sounds three times.
How to confirm it
- “Confirm” blinks on the display until you acknowledge the outage.
- Press MEASURED FILL under “Confirm”.
- The “PO” disappears and the display returns to the Home screen.
