Code overview
- Error code
- EA: 0
- Appliance
- Microwave
EA: 0 or EA: 1 shows whether the 2-step door function of a Maytag countertop microwave is enabled or disabled.
What this code means
EA: 0
EA: _ 0 or EA: _ 1 is displayed to show whether the 2-step door function is enabled or disabled.
EA: _ 0 and EA: _ 1 are not fault codes. On this Maytag countertop microwave they show whether the 2-step door opening function is enabled or disabled. The function exists to avoid unintended access, which helps where children could reach the appliance.
EA and DI on the display
EA is the enabled state and DI is the disabled state. Anyone who does not need the 2-step function can switch it off.
To enable
- Keep STOP/UNLOCK pressed for 3 seconds until EA:_0 is displayed.
- Push the 0 button. EA:_1 replaces it.
- Finish with START.
To disable
- Keep STOP/UNLOCK pressed for 3 seconds until DI:_0 is displayed.
- Push the 0 button. DI:_1 replaces it.
- Finish with START.
Unplugging the microwave does not undo the choice: it remembers the last setting, so there is no need to enable or disable the function again.
Display codes that are faults
Over-the-range Maytag models use E-series codes for real faults, for example E61 for an open oven sensor circuit and E62 for a shorted one.
