F1 E1 on a Maytag dryer: a power reset is the first thing the Maytag page asks for.
What this code means
F1 E1
Maytag lists F1 E1 with a reset routine; on the dryer entry it is a motor relay stuck on (ACU problem).
F1 E1 appears on both Maytag commercial-grade and standard dryers. The Maytag help page gives the same reset routine for each.
Reset routine
- Switch off the circuit breaker feeding the dryer and leave it off for 5 minutes.
- Switch the breaker back on.
- Run a timed dry cycle.
- Watch the dryer for one minute to see whether the code returns.
Which dryer
For the standard dryer the entry reads motor relay stuck on, an ACU problem. For the commercial dryer the Maytag page lists the code without naming a cause.
If it comes back
A code that reappears after the reset means the dryer needs service.
